JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC is the first and only FDA-approved injectable gel to instantly add volume to your cheek area to correct age-related volume loss in adults over the age of 21. Like Juvederm, Voluma is a hyaluronic acid based filler, but in a more dense form. This provides the substantial lift and volume needed to cheekbones.

Voluma gives a very natural and refreshed look to an aging face with volume loss and wrinkles or folds due to sagging. We are not simply “filling in” the folds… With Voluma, we are replacing the lost volume in the cheekbone, which in turn lifts the cheek and smooths out the sagging skin. This makes the lines less apparent without leaving an “over-filled” look around the mouth. Due to Voluma’s cross-linked structure, the product is long-lasting, providing results for up to 24 months.

The most commonly observed side effects are swelling, redness, pain, bruising, headache, tenderness, lump formation, itching at the injection site, and impaired hand function. These are typically mild in severity and typically resolve in less than 7 days in nasolabial folds and less than 14 days in lips. Complications for facial injections, can include vision abnormalities, blindness, stroke, scabs, or permanent scarring of the skin. As with all skin procedures, there is a risk of infection.

For JUVÉDERM® XC, most side effects are mild or moderate in nature, and last 7 days or less. The most common side effects include temporary injection-site reactions such as: redness, pain/tenderness, firmness, swelling, lumps/bumps, bruising, itching, and discoloration. As with all skin-injection procedures, there is a risk of infection.

For JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC, side effects are moderate (uncomfortable), and generally last 2 to 4 weeks. The most common side effects include temporary reactions at the treatment site such as tenderness, swelling, firmness, lumps/bumps, bruising, pain, redness, discoloration, and itching. As with all skin-injection procedures, there is a risk of infection.
