Welcome to iFusion Wellness and Ketamine Clinic. Prior to your initial evaluation and infusion we require a referral from your primary healthcare provider (PCP), Mental Health Practitioner (Psychiatrist, Psychologist, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner), or Family Health Nurse Practitioner. Once we receive a referral we will schedule an extensive consult with one of our ketamine infusion providers to individualize your plan of therapy. During the consult we will review general and mental health history, medications, the infusion process, and outcome expectations. Depending on your medical history, additional tests and information such as blood work, EKG, or further history from your provider may be needed.
PLEASE CONTINUE YOUR DAILY MEDICATIONS PRIOR TO YOUR KETAMINE INFUSIONS AS PRESCRIBED. This especially includes any antidepressants, blood pressure or diabetes medications.
On the day of your infusion, one of our providers will update your medical history at time of arrival, obtain consents for iV Ketamine infusion, and have you fill out a brief questionnaire for a baseline assessment. Your vital signs will be taken, an iV line will be started, appropriate monitors will be placed, and low flow oxygen via a nasal cannula will be administered.
The infusion will be started and titrated to the appropriate level based on your individualized plan of care. During the 45 minute to hour infusion you will be awake and able to communicate with your provider. You may have periods of drowisness and feeling as if your body is light and floating. During your infusion, you will be continuously monitored by one of our Registered Nurses or Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA’s).
Ketamine and other medications given during your infusion may cause drowsiness, alterred judgement and ability to drive a vehicle for up to 24 hours. You may experience more vivid dreams post infusion. After your infusion is complete and you are fully awake we will release you to a qualified caregiver over the age of 18 to drive you home.
TAXI, RIDESHARE SERVICES, UBER or LYFT ARE NOT PERMITTED FOR TRANSPORT AFTER KETAMINE INFUSIONS FOR YOUR SAFETY.
To maximize overall positive effects and benefit, ketamine infusions are usually given in a series over 2-3 weeks and boosters as needed. We will follow up with you after your infusions and keep in contact with your referring provider.
